They say that "love enters through the kitchen" and I believe that the objectives of the celebration of the Cuban Cuisine Day on October 18 confirm this because this celebration allows love to grow for what is ours, for the heritage, values ​​and traditions that define us as a nation and also makes us want more and distinguish the men and women who, with their work, enter our hearts directly through the palate.

It is already news that from this Sunday the 16th, which began, until next Friday the 21st, Havana is involved in a day dedicated to said event, focused this year on the socialization and exchange of knowledge.

Only that there is a greater challenge for chefs and that is that in times of many shortages to prepare traditional dishes that we like so much, we have to "invent", bringing to the table something new and economical, that is attractive for the whole family and at the same time tasty and genuinely Cuban time.

This time of celebration will be characterized, according to what was reported by its organizers, in a whole range of "conversations on Creole food and regional food, visits to schools and meetings with children and young people on food sovereignty and Cuban cuisine, the realization of some fairs of small format in neighborhoods with certain social and economic vulnerability”.

Several municipalities of the City will be involved with culinary projects in the activities of the week that will have its central act on the 18th; Guanabacoa, for its part, organizes a meeting on the 19th, at the Culinary Association of the municipality, with students of the Cuban cooking course.

Regarding the origin of this celebration, we learned that the National Heritage Council of the Ministry of Culture declared the Cuban Creole cuisine Intangible Cultural Heritage of the nation, on October 18, 2019, during the closing of the Seventh International Culinary Festival, which took place in La Havana, that's why every year on this date, this festival of authentically Cuban culinary flavors is held, as the gastronomic sector has been asked: Putting heart!
