Provincial act for the beginning of the School Year is carried out in Havana.

With the presence of Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella, head of the Ministry of Education of Cuba, took place this Monday March 14, in Havana, the act for the beginning of the School Year 2021-2022 in the Elementary School Teaching.

At José Manuel Lazo de la Vega, in the People´s Council Tamarindo, in the municipality of 10 de Octubre, the minister had an exchange with parents and family members of the scholars about the challenges of the educational process and the need of integrating the families and the teachers in a common goal, a quality learning of the children.

Likewise, she clarified doubts in regard with the sale of school uniforms for this level of teaching and stressed out the efforts realized by the country to guarantee the fabrics, which are imported.

Yoania Falcón Suarez, provincial director of Education, said that this Monday they will be welcoming 21 000 kindergarten students, 124 000 Elementary School students under the commitment of increasing the development of the educational process.

We must act in permanent defense of unity, discipline and exigencies in order to accomplish the best of our potentialities to be expressed in concrete outcomes in the integral formation of the students, she meant.

As part of the support of the organisms to the transformation process of the neighborhoods, the Tobacco Leaves Trade Company was acknowledged due to its construction works carried out at José Manuel Lazo de la Vega Primary School, with more than 140 students in its curriculum.

When reading the opening words of the students, the fifth grade student    Ernesto Jesús Pérez Alonso, expressed the joy of his classmates and teachers for coming back to a renewed school and re-stated that they will follow the example of the highest of the students, Fidel Castro Ruz.

According to the Ministry of Education, this School Year, that began last March 7 with the rest of teaching levels, is characterized for its short duration and its modifications to the school syllabus, under the precept of integrating subjects without reducing the contents, as part of the modifications carried out because of the social distancing required due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
