The Governor of Havana began to reckoning for his administration during the period of 2020 -2021

The Governor of Havana, Reinaldo García Zapata, began to render account on his management during 2020 ad 2021 as an exercise of social control and the obligation contracted as a public servant.
This process will take place according to the established schedule, and with reference to the ideas, concepts and guidelines contained in the central report of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
This complies with the provisions of the guiding documents, specifically Article 117 of the Constitution of the Republic, Article 16 of the Law 138¨on the Organization and Functioning of the Provincial Government of Havana¨ and Agreement 16 of the Provincial Council of the Government of Havana.
The period under evaluation was marked by economic restrictions aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic, the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the Unites States on the island and the media campaigns to discredit the Cuban Revolution.
Despite the complex scenario, the Provincial Council of the Government of Havana worked together with the highest leadership of the Party in the deepening of issues related to the strategy for the confrontation of Covid-19.
Likewise, a special attention was paid to the economic development of the territory, mainly to the execution of the plan and budget and the progress of the Ordinance task in the city.
Other key issues on which we have to work hard, have been housing construction process, the granting of subside and attention to vulnerable groups.
Meanwhile, the status of responses to complaints and reports done by the population, the status of proposals made by the voters to the delegates, as well as the aim to achieve the satisfaction of the quality of the basic services provided to the population, were closely monitored.
It should be noted that there is a work system that prioritizes the activities related with Covid-19, without neglecting the essential programs associated with the fulfillment of the social purpose of each administrative entity.
In this sense, a close link was established with the Directorates of the Councils of the Municipal Administrations, the universities placed in the territory and the rest of the economic and social actors of each neighborhood and community.
In the second semester of 2021, the organization, execution and control of the work carried out in 65 neighborhoods of the capital, combined with the execution of construction works and the attention to the social problems of the people, was included among the main tasks.
In subsequent works, detailed information will be provided on the accountability of the Governor in the various areas of management.
