The Prime Minister of the Republic, Manuel Marrero Cruz, congratulated this Thursday the provincial and municipal authorities in Havana, its Health System and the population for the success achieved in the control of the Covid-19 outbreak and the integral transformation of socially vulnerable neighborhoods. 

The recognition was made during the weekly exchange of the Temporary Working Group(GTT) in its expanded composition in which the epidemic indicators, the behavior of the reopening of socioeconomic and recreational activities that were limited and the implementation of the Integral Plan for the Transformation of disadvantaged communities were analyzed.

Marrero described the reduction in the incidence of the disease as surprising.

In order to support this statement, he referred to how hard is to control the mobility and sociability in a great urban area and oriented to keep the demand on the compliance of sanitary protocols in all the centers, facilities and services that have gradually reopened since the end of September.

Vaccination campaign has been a success, but we cannot be confident on that and low the vigilance because that is not enough, we must keep a self-responsible behavior in order to avoid a set back and move forward to a normality that allow us to reestablish the economy.

After that, the Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, deepen on the analysis of the epidemiological indicators and the prognosis of the pandemic behavior that shows a trend to continue lowering the incidence rate and the figures of critical and seriously ill cases.

Portal Miranda praised the provincial and municipal authorities and the Health System in Havana for the control of coronavirus and the development of a vaccination campaign that has allowed an 85.4% coverage with the scheme of vaccines of the universe possible to be immunized.

On this regard, the provincial director of Health, Emilio Delgado Iznaga, restated that next Monday 8 the vaccination with one dose of Soberana 01 and Soberana Plus will begin in the personnel of Public Health.

This process will go on with the general population as of November 22nd in the seven municipalities that were immunized in the first place: Guanabacoa, San Miguel del Padrón, La Habana del Este, Regla, Boyeros, Cotorro and Arroyo Naranjo.

The Prime Minister oriented to explore the reasons for which 163 citizens refused to be vaccinated and to do an orientation work with them in order to make them aware of the great social responsibility they have with themselves and their family members and the rest of the society.

The Minister of Health insisted on the vital need of keeping the surveillance system for Covid-19 outbreak: ¨we must accustom to live with the Covid-19, but keeping it under control, with a minimum of incidence¨.

Another priority is the vector control fight against Dengue, to avoid it becomes an epidemic for which and intensive search for cases with symptoms must be carried out, the isolation for the study of cases and the treatments of detected cases during surveys, management of the cases in the first 24 hours after being detected, environmental actions of control, elimination of natural and artificial deposits, quality foci treatment to the full cycle in November, and the granting of resources for neighborhoods disinfection.

Integral Transformation in neighborhoods

García Zapata exposed that in the last week authorities in the city toured vulnerable communities of several municipalities where they checked up the advance in the programs and exchanged with the residents in order to learn about their concerns and suggestions.

In the last three months since the beginning of the program it have been executed 26 580 social and constructive actions.

Last actions deal with the Housing, Hydraulic Resources, Roads, Commerce, Gastronomy and Education sectors, among others.

From October 28th to November 3rd there have been delivered 223 Food Cards to 242 family nuclei, for a total of 10 396 since the beginning of the process on July.

Likewise, 342 hoses were legalized and an economic assistance was granted to 223 vulnerable nuclei, for an accumulate of 3272 and 4199, respectively.

In the last 90 days, 64 groups of Social Prevention have been created, made up by 322 social workers, 65 Students Brigades that intentionally work with people that are not linked to studies or are unemployed and with vulnerable segments.

The Governor of the city assured that the principle to follow is do not leave neighborhood until works are concluded, for which Control and Oversee Commissions have been created.

The First Secretary of the Communist Party in the province, Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, highlighted the social character of these actions, because not only infrastructures are being repaired and basic needs of the population are solved but also raise the population self-esteem and get them confidence in that Revolution will always take care of its people.

The Prime Minister qualified these actions of a great political and social success and pointed out that next year they must deepen on them in a sustainable way.

These 26 000 social actions carried out shows how much we can do without having resources, that shows what a socialist system is capable to do for its humble citizens, that is why ¨this plan came to endure¨.
