Hall for children and youngsters is inaugurated in the National Library of Cuba

The Children and Juvenile Hall Eliseo Diego of the Biblioteca Nacional José Martí (BNJM) was inaugurated this Monday with the attendance of the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

The space will provide a variety of services to those who are discovering the world through loans, table games access to computers with didactic games among other proposals.

At the facility, the president inquired about certain editions and authors and learn about the staff that will serve in the place.

During the exchange with the Library´s personnel Diaz-Canel reminded classics destined to the youth enjoyment such as Julio Verne´s and Salgari´s literary work and alluded to the importance of, whenever is possible, efforts be made to enrich the archives, whether digital or physical, in order to the strengthening of children and youngster´s culture and knowledge.

As part of the commemoration of the 120th anniversary of the foundation of the Biblioteca Nacional José Martí some actions are being carried out through a wide program of activities, among them it stands out the homage dedicated to those whole played a protagonist role in the formation of the culture and values of the nation.

This Monday were presented the labels that are carved in some chairs in the Sala Cubana (Cuban Hall) with names of people whose work was made from the patient carrying out of our systematic library services, as pointed out by Omar Valiño, director of the institution.
