University Theater

Its first presentation took place on May 20, 1941 in the then Rector Cadenas Square, today Ignacio Agramonte Square. It was a collective that emerged in the university classrooms with the students of the Dramatic Arts Seminar integrated by young actors and actresses, at a time when the performing arts did not have any support in our country.  Its main purposes were to promote the social importance of theater and its influence on the ethical, cultural and political order, as well as its extension to the national level.

International School of Cinema, Television and Video

Inaugurated on December 15, 1986 in an area near the picturesque town of San Antonio de los Baños, the International School of Film and Television is a very significant center where dozens of students are trained annually in six specialties of the audiovisual sphere.  This center was created within the New Latin American Cinema Foundation. Among the most significant recognitions obtained by this center is the Roselli Prize, awarded at the Cannes Film Festival in 1993. It has also been ranked as one of the four best film schools in the world.

Raúl Gómez García Distinction
