José Martí’s Diary is Now Available in French

The Center for Studies about José Martí (Centro de Estudios Martianos) highlighted this publication of the Cuban Apostol’s campaign diaries, done in French for the first time, and published by Ediciones Cidihca.

Bonaldi, who kept the printed work in Montreal, has done and given freely, other translations of Martí’s work, and in this occasion, he was able to maintain in his translation difficult elements like Martí’s stylistics and idiomatic richness.

That Cuban institution pointed out in a press release, that the text offers a great deal of information and analysis that contribute to the understanding of the historical context and the knowledge of this national hero of our independence.

This publication, which includes the campaign diaries written during the last weeks of the National Hero’s life, takes the French-speaking reader to the richness of Martí’s ideas.
