The Lenin Hill is located in the municipality of Regla, in Havana.

On January 27, 1924, thousands of people living in this neighborhood of the Cuban capital met to plant an olive tree and pay a posthumous tribute to Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, the same day that the funeral of the great leader of the October Revolution This was done on a hill located on the outskirts of the town, known at that time as Loma del Fortín, and from that moment began to identify that place as the Lenin Hill.

The tribute was made on the initiative of Dr. Antonio Bosch y Martinez, mayor of the town and man of progressive ideas.
In the course of the following years, Lenin Hill served as the stage for numerous acts and demonstrations against the corrupt governments and dictatorships suffered by the Cuban nation.

There is currently a large monument on Lenin Hill. Seven human figures, two meters tall carved in marble surround the so-called peace tree and this symbolizes the protection and solidarity among men.

The history of Regla goes back to the sixteenth century and the seventeenth century respectively, which shows the existence of a personality of its own, endorsed by a long run in time.

The indigenous name of the town later called Nuestra Señora de Regla, is Guaicanamar, whose meaning is "in front of the sea",

The current Municipality of Regla, has two compact urban settlements, formed by the communities of Regla and Casablanca.

The territory covers an area of ​​9.2 square kilometers.
