In which municipality of Havana is a museum that has rooms devoted to Afro-Cuban folklore and is considered the most complete in Cuba in this specialty?

This museum is located in Guanabacoa. The ethnographic room of this institution offers an overview of cultures of African origin. There are the attributes of the Abakuá society: the Ekkue drums, the Brakiñancure, which is a drum braided on a skull and that serves to mourn the dead, and the costumes of diablitos as well as the batons of command.

In the museum, in the hall dedicated to the Yoruba culture, the different gods of this religion are exhibited in the showcases.

The Museum is located in an old 19th century mansion that belonged to the Waitress of Our Lady of the Assumption, Patroness of the Villa.

The historical urban center of Guanabacoa covers an area of ​​six and five kilometers and has two sectors, a monumental one in which there is the greatest number of old and historic buildings and another one of transition where there are fewer buildings and there are more scattered.

The monumental sector covers a perimeter of four point and five kilometers and it is located very unique buildings from the historical or architectural point of view, among them, the Parochial church, the church and the convent of San Francisco, better known as Escolapios, the Church of the Candelaria and the Convent of Santo Domingo, the House of the Chains, the former Artistic and Literary Lyceum, as well as a group of old houses dating from the seventeenth century.
