Delegates of the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties toured the Havana neighborhood of La Timba.

As part of the program of the 22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (EIPCO), which is being held at the Havana Convention Palace, delegates to the event visited the La Timba neighborhood of Havana on Thursday.

According to a note published by Cubadebate, accompanied by the main authorities of the Party and the Government of that community in transformation, the visitors learned first-hand about the actions being carried out to improve the living conditions of its residents.

Osmani Arcia Peñate, president of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power in Plaza de la Revolución, where La Timba is located, told the visitors that the work in that demarcation began in July 2021 to revive services and elementary living conditions such as housing, water supply and paving of streets, which had been depressed since the Revolution took them out of their marginal condition in 1959.

He emphasized that this transformation benefits families whose homes were in a serious constructive state, and the spaces converted into dumps recover their splendor to give culture and art back to the community.
