Esteban Lazo visited the La Federal community in the Havana municipality of Guanabacoa
The member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Esteban Lazo Hernández Party, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, toured district 42, known as La Federal, in the Havana municipality of Guanabacoa this Friday morning. .
In this neighborhood, one of the 65 in the capital where intense work has been unleashed to eradicate material and social problems that affect its inhabitants, Lazo Hérnandez spoke with the neighbors, accompanied by the member of the Central Committee of the Party and First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC, Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, Governor Reinaldo García Zapata, and Marta Oramas Rivero, First Deputy Minister of Transportation – an organization that participates in the transformation of this municipality.
In the exchange with the inhabitants, Lazo inquired about the actions carried out and what they are doing now in the neighborhood. He was also interested in knowing how the inhabitants of the community participate in these transformations.
Regarding the existing problems in this demarcation, a work published by the newspaper Trabajadores, reports that, before the actions carried out, the main difficulties were concentrated in the deteriorated situation of the housing fund with an average constructive state of fair, the non-existence of sewage and road structure –such as unpaved sidewalks and streets–, inadequate facilities for the supply of drinking water, distance of three kilometers from the network of fundamental services, proliferation of solid waste and vectors in micro-dumps, illegal clotheslines in the electrical system, lack of essential services, among others.
In statements to this medium, Mayor Yosleidy de León stated that in this Havana territory the legalization of 87 homes has been processed, which will be granted a construction license for completion or replacement, with the allocation of resources in the place. Likewise, it specified that 62 supply books were delivered, preventive actions were undertaken in order to avoid the emergence of new illegalities, progress was made in the collection of solid waste with the location of an Ampliroll box, the free plots were cleaned for the reorganization of the area, and new service centers and public spaces were built.
The President of the Cuban Parliament toured rehabilitated homes; the cellar, panera, juicer and point of sale of agricultural products; and the facilities for community exercise and recreation such as the children's park, the bio-healthy gym and the multiple-use sports field. He appreciated the reconstruction of perimeter fences, as well as the improvement of the road structure with the paving and construction of sidewalks throughout the neighborhood.
Workers details that the transformations of the housing and urban fund in this locality include: 84 homes to legalize, of these, 16 have already carried out this procedure; 87 homes identified for self-help construction; 4 houses under construction for mothers with three children or more, of which 2 are currently under construction; 3 subsidies; 1 dwelling fully repaired due to the social situation of its inhabitant; the rehabilitation of facades and urbanization; placement of public lighting; replacement of electrical poles; construction of a septic tank and connections for water, and the construction of five sewage manholes.
Esteban Lazo insisted on the importance of strengthening values, discipline, the rejection of illegalities and crime, the care of the works; and to contribute everyone to the construction of Socialism from the neighborhood, with popular participation and control, and to support the future of the Homeland from his locality.
There are many pending issues in our neighborhoods, but we must keep in mind how much we have advanced, in the midst of this difficult economic scenario there are many things to defend, he acknowledged. He added that everything cannot be solved at once because we have many accumulated problems, but together with the people and our Revolution, progress can be made by eliminating part of those problems every day.
During a visit to the home of Yenisei de la Caridad Nieto Martínez, a mother of more than three children who has benefited from a new home since Saturday, June 25, she confirmed the gratitude of this 33-year-old woman and her mother when, moved, she expressed : «I feel very proud and she always told everyone that, thanks to the Revolution, my daughter has her house. This doesn't happen anywhere else in this world."
Esteban Lazo Hernández, at the end of the tour, valued that the neighborhood is transforming, and urged the neighbors to continue forward, with the participation of all.
Itinerary of transformations in Guanabacoa
As part of the day of activities for the 468th anniversary of the founding of the Villa de Guanabacoa, which took place precisely on June 12, it was inaugurated at taxi agency number 12, located in the D'Beche-Nalón Popular Council. , a transportation service with electric tricycles that cover three sections: from El Mikito to La Yuca; from the Guanabacoa traffic light to the center of the territory; and around El Roble.
