They will celebrate the International Festival of Spanish Dance and Flamenco

The third International Festival of Spanish Dance and Flamenco, Cubaflamenco 2022, will take place between the 20th and 26th, at the Avellaneda hall of the National Theater of Cuba in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality of Havana, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the prestigious group led by Veitía and founded in 1987 thanks to the management of prima ballerina assoluta, Alicia Alonso.

The event, which is called CubaFlamenco 2022, will be in session until June 26 in Havana with workshops and shows in tribute to Cuban and Spanish cultural roots and their various expressions.

In the lobby of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, the opening toast was held this Monday, June 20.

According to Tribuna de La Habana, the meeting reserves four galas, which will open their actions on June 23 (8:30 p.m.), in the Avellaneda room of the National Theater. A day where emphasis will be placed on the region of Murcia, and on the International Festival of Cante Flamenco de Lo Ferro, to whom this third edition is dedicated.

The Spanish Dance and Flamenco Gala is scheduled for June 24 (8:30 p.m.), where tribute will be paid to the teachers José Antonio Ruiz, dancer and choreographer (Spain), to the famous Cuban dancer, teacher and maitre Aurora Bosh, one of the four jewels of the National Ballet of Cuba, and the renowned maitre d' and director of the Prodanza Center, Laura Alonso.

On the 25th (8:30 p.m.) an emblematic piece of the BEC will occupy the scene of the coliseum of Plaza de la Revolución: Porque Brujo Amor, in which the hosts of Eduardo Veitía will be joined, again, by the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba, directed by maestro Enrique Pérez Mesa, and the outstanding Spanish singer Chelo Pantoja, something that will undoubtedly enrich these days, in a year of celebrations for an emblematic company that also celebrates the 35th anniversary of the stage debut as a professional of the maestro Eduardo Veitía, director of the BEC.

The Closing Gala of the third International Festival of Spanish Dance and Flamenco, Cubaflamenco will take place on Sunday 26 (8:30 p.m.), but before that, at 8:00 p.m., a flashmob will take place in the lobby of the Avellaneda room ( Flamenco Ecos Company and the Spanish Ballet of Cuba).

Participating in this third edition, along with the Spanish Ballet of Cuba, will be the Lo Ferro Ballet Company, the prima ballerina Cynthia Cano (its leading figure), the dancers Blanca Herreros and Antonio Muñoz, the dancer Ana Ruiz, the Murcian singer Thais Hernández, guitarist Carlos Zárate; the Proart International Dance Company, from Querétaro, Mexico, Sandra Ostrowsky and Lucía Nicolás, the singer Raquel Hernández, the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Pérez Mesa, together with the singer Estrella Chelo Pantoja, from Spain; the National Folkloric Ensemble and the Ecos Flamenco Company.
