Women rescuers are decorated with Distinction "August 23"

Thirty rescuers who worked in the Saratoga hotel accident received the August 23 Distinction, from the General Secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), Teresa Amarelle Boué, in an act held this Friday at the Memorial of the Complaint of the capital Beach municipality.

The highest award granted by the FMC recognizes the dedication, perseverance and courage shown by the women in the days of uninterrupted rescue and rescue work they carried out, after the unfortunate explosion that occurred at the Zaratoga hotel, on May 6, 2022.

The also member of the Political Bureau of the Party, along with members of the secretariat of that organization, recognized the deep traces left by the heroes and heroines of the country's history.

The act is part of the tribute for the eighteenth anniversary of the physical disappearance of the Sierra and Llano combatant Vilma Espín Guillois, who will always be linked to the FMC, an organization officially constituted on August 23, 1960. , and who guided as president.
