Havana will host international Taekwondo event

From June 2 to 5, the Havana International Taekwondo Open will take place at the Ciudad Deportiva Coliseum. A fight that, in its first edition, aims to bring together some 250 athletes representing nearly 20 countries.

Juventud Rebelde informs that the Cuban sports newspaper Jit specifies that the joust that holds the G2 category and that will take place in combat and poomsae, offers points to those who are in the first 12 positions of the competition table, which will begin with the form modality.

With the guardianship of the World Taekwondo Federation, taekwondoins from Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Costa Rica, Canada, Lesotho, Morocco, Puerto Rico, Peru, Guatemala, Cyprus, Germany, Yemen, Haiti, Guinea Bissau, Brazil participate in the contest. , Nicaragua, Chile, and the hosts.

Thanks to the G2 format that supports the tournament, interested cadets, youth and those under 30 years of age will be able to fight in the combat specialty; while, in poomsae they will have the opportunity to compete, in addition, those under 40.

They all pursue the goal of accumulating points for the world ranking, both in one specialty and another.

For its part, once the actions in the Open have concluded, it will be the turn of the III edition of the Havana Taekwondo Festival, dated from June 5 to 7. The tournament aims to give the opportunity to compete to practitioners who do not have a place in the ranking of the International Federation.
