President Díaz – Canel thanked today the contribution of the solidarity movements to Cuba in the fight against the United States ‘blockade in the closure of a meeting held with foreigner organizations representatives.

During the closure of the International Encounter of Solidarity with Cuba, the Cuban president praised the days carried out for the fight against the blockade and the sanitary supplies donations delivered to the Cuban Health System.

¨Solidarity cannot be blocked, it will continue to be an indestructible weapon and a message of peace that will never be silenced¨, he said in front of more than a thousand delegates of 219 social and union organizations.

The also secretary of the Cuban Communist Party stressed Cuba´s creative resistance, that has been possible thanks to the help of foreigner friends which now face the online disinformation campaigns held against the Cuban Revolution, some of them turned to be violent.

Diaz-Canel denounced the pressure applied by the American administration to generate destabilization, seconded by fake news and information gaps campaigns, in order to make the Cuban government responsible for the impact of the inhumane measures taken through the economic and financial blockade.

He added that these campaigns seek to manipulate the trials made of those who responsible for 11 July disturbances, which were honestly carried out and attached to the guaranties and the legal processes.

The president expressed that, in regard with the Summit of the Americas, Cuba should not be excluded and all countries in the region should be invited to participate, regardless they were or not selected by the United States to participate.

¨Here we are the poor of the world, but empowered, just as imperialist don’t want to see us. We are still the bad seed that classicist societies fear the most. The ones focused on conquering justice, on continue fighting for a better world¨, he said.  

The International Encounter of Solidarity with Cuba concluded today with a statement that condemns the American blockade to Cuba and summons the left wing movements to join forces and move forward in the anti-imperialist fight.

The date, in which more than a thousand delegates participated, started last Saturday and included in its schedule, some visits carried out to neighborhoods, entities and the engagement of the participants in the May 1st parade.
