Havana Biennial Reaches its Third Stage

By Elena Milagros Godinez Dalmau

The 14th Havana Biennial reaches its third experience with multiple proposals by national and foreign artists, as well as special projects, not only in the capital but also in provinces like Cienfuegos, Matanzas and Santiago de Cuba.

Starting next March 25, the last stage of the Biennial will be a return to Porvenir, a title that will accompany the event until April 30 with theoretical presentations, exhibitions and joint projects with art training schools such as the University of the Arts, ISA, and San Alejandro.

Present at the press conference were members of the event's organizing committee, the Ministry of Culture and the National Council of Plastic Arts, who acknowledged that this edition of the Havana Biennial is once again showing itself as that cultural space that brings new airs to the island and gathers artists in different projects.

Lisset Alonso, deputy director of the Wilfredo Lam Center, pointed out that the main venues of the event will be the Fototeca de Cuba, the Linea y 18 Cultural Station and Factoría Habana, where more than 50 international artists will be welcomed over the next few days.

The Havana Biennial, an event organized by the Wilfredo Lam Contemporary Art Center, has been a propitious scenario to stimulate creation and reflection in the visual arts in our region and the world.

Its 14th edition arrived in the capital in 2021 and will last until April 30 with a program that blends future and contemporaneity in all its spaces and presentation modalities.
