According to the communiqué published on the UH website, the conclave is intended to be a starting point for the organization of the XIII Latin American Botanical Congress, to be held in Havana in 2023.

The event will pay tribute to the memory of two illustrious experts: Dr. Johannes Bisse, author of the scientific conception of the JBN, and Professor Lutgarda Gonzalez, an outstanding professional in the training of most specialists in this field.

Agroecology, plant biotechnology, botanical collections, environmental law, ecotourism, landscaping and urban tree planting, genetics and genomics, among others, are some of the topics of the Congress.
