Works by women are part of the film cycle in the capital.

The cinema La Rampa hosts the screenings of works from the series Pioneers of Cinema, which will present films, documentaries, shorts and an animated series at 18: 00 8 local time).

In its first week they show the film Papichas, dreams of liberty; a production of 2019 of the filmmaker Mounia Meddour. The film is contextualized in the 90s and tells the story of a young student and her fight against the prohibitions of the radicals in the civil war.

The second part of the cycle will take place from March 9th to 13th and will include the rest of the planned programming.   

The day of the boot 13 shorts of Alice Guy, produced between1898 and 1907 will be screened. The films Chez le magnetiseurAvenue d’ la óperaLes Resultats du feminisme, of Guy, the first woman in the history of movie in filming a fiction work will be screened.  

The same day, the film La sonriente Madame Beudet, will be in theaters. It is a French drama from 1923, directed by Germaine Dulac. It is considered one of the first female film exponents and focuses on the story of an intelligent woman, who is locked in an oppressive marriage.   

Thursday 10th afternoon will be for documentaries with París 1900, of Nicole Védrès, about the city and the passing of time. It was filmed in black and white in 1947, documents from that time and part of audiovisuals from other works were used for the film to evidence the life in Paris between 1900 and 1914.

The animated series will be on Friday 11th: Valerosas, of Mai Nguyen and Charlotte Cambon De La Valette. It is an adaptation of the work of Penelope Bagieu; it is about the presence of women that influenced society from different capacities.

El musical drama of 1962Cleo from 5 to 7, of Agnès Varda, will be Saturday´s 12th proposal. Its main character is waiting for the final results of medical tests that can confirm cancer. During this time, she trusts in a young soldier to whom she tells her fear to death.  

Finally, on Sunday 13th the cycle gets to the end with When women get involved; a French 2003 documentary of Paule Zadjermann, where a story of feminism and testimonies about it is told, from the perspective of three generations of women.
