
Havana will get to its 502 anniversary embellished and reanimated
Reinaldo García Zapata, Governor of Havana, affirmed this last Friday, during g the ordinary session of the Temporary Working Group (GTT) in the province, that the city will get to its 502nd anniversary beautified, hygienic, organized and reanimated.
The general plan to reactivate the socioeconomic, cultural and recreational life of the city has been achieved and it will reach a decisive moment this Monday when the services of the International Airport José Martí be totally reactivated as well as the Touristic sector and the Education sector with the return of the students of Primary School from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade to their educational centers.
The agricultural and gastronomic fairs will continue on Monday and Tuesday in all the municipalities in the capital.
Festive activities summoned by the youth mass organizations will be carry out in emblematic parks of the city.
After the central act for the reopening of the School Year, occurred at Ciudad Escolar Libertad, some works of high impact will be inaugurated in Old Havana. There, activities will go on in celebration of the founding of the city, where a commemorative plaque will be unveiled at Palacio de los Capitanes Generales and the traditional walk around the legendary ceiba tree of El Templete, foundational spot of the Wonder City.
This very night, the decorative lights representing the Milky Way´s constellations, installed two years ago at Galiano Street for the 500 anniversary of the city, will be turn on once again. This time lighting with a much higher intensity, bringing the light to the network of kiosks with such a gastronomic offers extended along the San Rafael Boulevard and the Chinese Town.
On Tuesday the commemorative day will start with the inauguration of works done in the Health sector and a tour along the Camilo Cienfuegos community, located in Habana del Este which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary this very day.
In the afternoon at the National Theater an Artistic Gala will take place in celebration of the 502nd anniversary of Havana.
The Governor of Havana praised the work done in the last few weeks by the provincial Electric Company in the restoring and reanimation of the streetlights of 90 avenues in the city.
He also congratulated the cleaning and embellishment of main roads and avenues, headed by the Dirección Provincial de Comunales y la Empresa Provincial de Áreas Verdes, with the support of other entities.
García Zapata highlighted the revitalization of the cultural life and other services which is reflected these days with the inauguration of the Biennale of Habana, the Feria de las Oportunidades at Línea and 18th street facility and the arrangement for the beginning of the International Craft Fair to be developed this month.
Lastly, he commended the impressive welcoming offered to the President of the Republic and his companion last Friday by the neighbors of the community Los Pocitos.
The inhabitants of this community expressed the President their support and gratefulness for the social transformations that have taken place there in the last few months.
That is the spirit that prevails in the vulnerable communities that have had a rebirth from the implementation of this social transformation plan that will continue next year with bigger aims and efforts, because this is a plan that came to endure, he assured.
This is the work´s dynamic that will lead us to a victorious January 1st, when we celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the revolutionary campaign led by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
Vaccination and epidemiological situation
Dr. Nilda Roca Menéndez, deputy general of the Provincial Health Direction, updated that the 85.5% of the possible universe to be immunized in the capital have already completed the scheme, including the 15 days’ period after the third dose administration.
About the Soberana Pediatric Vaccination Program it was informed that the 98% of the group from 11 to 18 years of age have already received at least two doses, and the 88.7% the third one.
The amount of people who refused to be vaccinated decreased to 185 subjects.
At the closing of last Friday, after 5183 tested samples, 23 new cases were diagnosed, three less than previous day.
95% of them were asymptomatic and all of them were contact of confirmed cases.
599 patients remain hospitalized, 323 of them in home admission; 291 actives cases were reported, 104 less than the day before.
17 people are in the Intensive Care Unit, nine of them critical.
