For Omar Ayala López, integral paramedic of the National Emergency Medical Base with 15 years of experience in this task, having the opportunity of support the work of firefighters is a privilege. I am part of a great team that fight for people´s lives and we are capable for risking our lives to save others´ lives. I have gained a lot of experience in dealing with patients, their transfer, handling in medical institutions, every day you learn more and more. Our 24 hour on-call service is always different. Fear is present event when you are resting at home, but the responsibility and the quick response to support the health system is the most important thing.

Omar confesses that these last few years have been very hard, he suffered to casualties due to Covid-19 in his workplace, have been affected by the lack of medicines, difficulties with mobiles, uniforms, among other things. In spite of everything, we have to put heart into Cuba and even more into our profession, he said with confidence.

Robert Sosa, with a degree in Nursing, with 24 years of experience in this sector and part of the Emergencias Médica team since 2000.

For his part, Robert Sosa, who has a degree in Nursing, with 24 years of experience in this work and part of the Medical Emergencies team since 2000, said that his experience in work is to save people´s lives in mass accidents. One of my achievements during these years of work is to keep people´s lives from accidents to medical institutions, all of them have arrived alive and this is our main goal. People feel grateful every time the SIUM service is requested and they see us as their salvation. There are situations that also point to the technical availability that we have and the amount of demands, of this depend on times and distances to which our patients are.

How is Centro Habana preparing for the reopening of Transport?

According to Calderón Quesada the municipality has covered the bus tops where there is a higher concentration of passengers, since it does not even have taxi terminals. In this sense, he explains that it is a question of improving the situation since the municipality has more bus terminals on p7, p14,p12,p16,55 and 54. We are preparing ourselves with passengers assistance inspectors to support the population in case of any problem.
