The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez, participated at the Balance Assembly of the PCC at the municipality of La Lisa on which agreements of the 8th Congress of the organization are being follow up.

Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of the Cadre policy and Organization of the Central Committee (CC PCC), Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, member of the PCC and its First Secretary in Havana and Reinaldo García Zapata , Governor of the city also attended to the meeting.

The First secretary of the Provincial Committee at La Lisa, Alain Delcourt López, initiated the session with the reading of the Central Report which was debated by the 165 delegates to the meeting in representation of the 5819 members of the territory, gathered in 377 nuclei.

Besides debating about the compliance of the agreements and guidelines of the 8th Congress, they debated in regard with the renovation and the strengthening of the base structures, the PCC role in the economic battle, the political-ideological work, the struggle against subversion, and the actions developed to control and prevent Covid-19 among other subjects. 

Diaz-Canel: La Lisa could become an Intelligent Municipality.

In an exchange with the General Secretary of the Committee of the PCC in the Universidad de las Ciencias Informaticas (UCI, Informatics Sciences University) and chair of the center, Dr. C. Raydel Montesino Peruera and engineer Yadian Pérez, the Cuban president made the proposition of becoming the territory an Intelligent Municipality taking into account the great scientific and technological potentialities of the entities located there.

We must work for creating an integration among the UCI and the BioCubaFarma centers, the industrial and agricultural enterprises, the Food Industry, MINSAP, local development projects to empower innovation, development, the training of the cadres to all levels and the businesses management direction.

¨These are the guidelines that were approved at the 8th Congress and we must articulate them with a bigger effort because what have been done is not enough yet in order to integrate all these factors so they allow a bigger technological development and as a result of that, increase the products and services exportation, ¨ he defined.

The First Secretary of the CC PCC also pointed out as priorities for the UCI the training in cybersecurity to the cadres at different levels, the creation of self-developed applications and platforms as nauta.cu to accomplish the invulnerability in the cyberspace, as for getting a more protagonist role in the intense ideological battle in social networks that have become a vital line of defense for the Revolution.

¨All these work directives were established by Fidel at the Foundation of this innovation and teaching center almost 20 years ago¨, he reminded.

Speaking precisely about the legacy of the historical leader of the Revolution, the rector of the university initiated his intervention in which he reaffirmed the commitment of students and teachers with the defense of the Revolution, the development of the country, the province, the municipality and the social work.

This commitment was demonstrated in the attitude of 3000 students and teachers that took care of patients admitted in the facility when it was designated as hospital and isolation center for Covid-19 patients.

This was also the attitude shown when supporting the work done during the community work, the tasks with socioeconomic impact and the battle against elements of dis last July 11th, he stated.

The First Secretary of the PCC at La Lisa indicated to the Party leader of the center of High Studies to keep the level of commitment and effort, and to pass it to the newcomers and the community.

After that, the general director of AICA Laboratories Company, Antonio Vailin García, highlighted the work done by the Party members of this center in the battle against the pandemic and its bound with the working youth in the entity who became pillars in the production of the Soberana 02 and Abdala vaccines, the Nasalferón and other drugs. 

The production capacity of AICA is high: there are ten million vials that allow the production of 100 000 doses a year, and between 280 000 and 300 000 a doses a day, he affirmed.

At the end, Vailin García expressed that this company will play an important role at the drug exportation in the future, which is part of what was arranged as main guidelines during the 8th Congress of the Party.

The general secretary of the Tropical Medicine Institute Pedro Kourí (IPK), Ana Lourdes Castillo Cruz, referred to the renewal of the base committee, the political –ideological work led to young people and workers of the administrative and service branches which resulted in eight new admissions to the lines of the Party and five admissions to the Union of Communists Youth(UJC).

Diaz-Cannel praised the dedicated work of the IPK personnel in the analysis of PCR samples, the care of patients and the advising in the creation of molecular biology laboratories.

In regard with some difficulties that happened during the agricultural production and commercialization with a strong presence in the territory, two leaders of the Party belonging to two cooperatives, regretted the lack of logistic support and the existence of some restrictions for the sale while at the same time both of them restated the commitment with the supply for social consumption and the markets in the municipality and the province. 

The First Secretary of the PCC reaffirmed the Government’s support and reminded them that 63 measures are in force in order to stimulate the agriculture and link the productive ways to markets for decreasing to the minimum the intermediaries.

The Governor of Havana exposed the way the system of markets was organized in the city to boost a straight bound with the producers and to avoid abusive prices.

García Zapata explained that it is not possible to top the prices due to the offers will dramatically diminish and announced that a political work will be done with the productive and commercialization ways to reduce prices in the agricultural offers, making them more accessible to the consumers.

For his part, the maximum leader of the Party in La Lisa indicated to the Party´s secretaries of the cooperatives to keep control of the destination of productions in order to avoid detours and to work together in the prevention of abusive prices.

About the productive potential of this territory, Torres Iríbar claimed that it is significant for the province and results show that hard work has been done to fulfill the guidelines in Economy even though more can be done, mostly in the productive chaining and the land use.

¨This municipality has a strength in the work of the Party and it must be reflected in the economic battle. The socialist state enterprise must be the one that contribute the most to the country and to the capital. This is a priority to the work of the Party. Today, more than ever, the Revolution needs us, it a decisive moment¨.

Then, the Secretary of Organization and Cadre Policy, Roberto Morales Ojeda, claimed that the main missions of the Party, ratified at the 8th Congress of the Party, are the economic battle and the politic-ideological work, which complemented each other.

¨We must exploit all resources that the country owns to increase the material production¨, pointed out.

He announced that the Assembly process will be extended to the next few weeks to the base Assembly where the agreements will be analyzed by the members, gathered by sectors.

In this meeting of members of the Party of the municipality of La Lisa, 55 members of its municipal Committee were elected, headed by its First Secretary Alain Delcourt López who was reelected.

There were also elected the 25 delegates to the Provincial Assembly that will be carried out in the first two months of 2022.
