A call is made for increasing the sanitary control in the communities in view of the aproaching increase of travelers to the Island

The Primary Health Care System and the agencies that provide services to landsords should step up health control measures to detect possible infected persons and revent intrafamily contagion in view of the increase of the number of travelers, which is expected to begin on November 15th.

This was steted on Wednesday by Dr. Rolando Yero Travieso, member of the provincial bureau of the Communist Party duringh the working session of the Temporary Working Group (GTT) for the fight against Covid-19 in Havana, which also analyzed the vaccination and the epidemiological situation.

In an Exchange with the Provincial Health Authorities, the PCC oficial reviewed the epidemiological protocols to be strictly followed after the arrival of tourists and Cubans living in other countries who will stary in rental houses in Havana  , which should be permanently visited by the staff of the medical offices.

Vaccination and epidemiological situation

Dr. Emilio Delgado Iznaga, Provincial Director of Health, updated that at the end of Tuesday a 94.1% of the possible universe to be vaccinated in the capital had been innoculated with the first dose  of the inmunogen, with 85 121 people still to be vaccinated.

The director also informed that 78% of the possible to be inmunized have completed the vaccination scheme while the number of those who refused to be vaccinated increased to 300, with whom we must continue to carry out a convincing work.

Regarding the epidemiological situation , it was stated that on Tuesday, 4599 cases were studied, of them 56 were positive to the disease, 16 less tan previuos day and all of them with autochthonous source of infection.

A total of 58 outbreak controls were closed and 39 new opend for a total of 341 active controls, 23 of which were located in Habana del Este. The province has no active epidemiological event.

On Tuesday, 183 patients were admitted and 316 medically  discharged and 210 recovered, of which 34 were home admitted patients. A total of 1623 patients remain hospitalized(621 at home)of which 738 are active cases in Havana, 33 less than the previous day.

At the end of the day,  30 patients were being treated in the Intensive Care Units, 10 of them in a critical condition.

At the begining of the meeting, it was informed that the highest authorities of the GTT, Reinaldo García Zapata and Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, attend as deputies to the sessions of the Assembly of the People´s Power .
