Leopoldo Pérez Ulloa is born in the neighborhood Luyanó.

He was identified by his name and last name in the artistic world. He was linked to the small town Catalina de Guines where he lived with his parents. He started writing songs since he was very young and was a self taught author. We can mention “Mi súplica”, “En el balcón”,” Moriré de amor” and “Como nave sin rumbo” among his well known boleros. He was a famous romantic songs writer among many couples. His name and work are still in the mind of those who knew him and admired him as well as in the history of the Cuban popular music. He died on January 6th, 2003.
