The outstanding Cuban artist Santos Toledo Argudín inaugurated today in the lobby of the National Museum of Music his work National Anthem on the occasion of the Day of the Cuban Culture.

¨For me it’s great that my work is part of the warehouse of Cuban culture, my second home, I feel very happy¨, assured the artist when signing his signature on the work.

With more than thirty personal exhibitions in Cuba and around the world, the artist hold the Eduardo Muñoz Bachs National Graphic Design Award awarded by the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).

The National Choir of Cuba, under the direction of the teacher Digna Guerra opened the day with the interpretation of the notes of the National Anthem and a very special moment was enjoyed by those present to hear the oldest record of the Bayamo Anthem, in a recently restored Regina music box.

According to Fajardo, this 20th day in celebration of the Cuban Culture throughout history has been endorsed to reaffirm everything that constitutes Cuban identity and tradition.

It is a day of celebration, in which every Cuban should feel proud of the culture of this country, and it is a time to know how much it is necessary to defend the country from any artistic manifestation, he said.

Fajardo recognized that the Hose of Music became home of Cuban musical heritage, because in large measure it is a reflection of the entire footprint left by music and its protagonists throughout the history of Cuba.

He also recalled that this day celebrates the 17th anniversary of the first graduation of the Art Instructors Brigade created by Fidel Castro and throughout these years is a movement that has endured in the country.
