Conference Hall Verba Volant (Words fly) was inaugurated at the Casa Museo Eusebio Leal Spengler, in Old Havana, with the objective of keeping the legacy of the Forever Historian of the City.

The Director of Communication,Magda Resik, expressed that the Hall is named after a Latin phrase to which Eusebio worshiped due to its meaning which, translated into Spanish means, ¨words fly in the spoken speech, but remain when they are translated to written speech, to black and white, to printed words¨ and all Eusebio´s literary creation started from the spoken word, from his mastery in speaking.  

The first discussion held at Verba Volant was attended by young people belonging to the Office of the Historian of Havana, who dialogued with Sergio González, Eusebio Leal´s collaborator for more than 50 years and friend.

González narrated important foundational moments of the Office, and unveiled traits of Eugenio’s professional trajectory who was a man completely dedicated to his work and since a young age defended an ideal and a dream that he was turning into reality: the restoration and rescue of Old Havana.
