Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 11th, stated that, 2638 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 923 966.

To date,7928 deaths by coronavirus (37 belong to the day) have been reported, and 15 284 active cases of which 14 973(98%)with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 3461(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 900 697(97.4%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 37 258 patients remain in hospital admission, 19 361 suspicious and 2613 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 171 belong to the capital, all of them native. We regret 2 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital, in the municipalities of Boyeros and Diez de Octubre.

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased to 187.4%, placing the capital in thirtieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (20), Diez de Octubre (18), Habana del Este (15), Playa (14), Centro Habana, Habana Vieja and Arroyo Naranjo (12), Plaza de la Revolución and Guanabacoa(11), Cerro and San Miguel del Padrón (10), Marianao and Cotorro (8), La Lisa (7) and Regla (3).

27 138 tests were studied for Covid- 19, 2638 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 10 021 878 analyzed samples of which 923 966(9.2%) were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,2617(99.2%) people were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 912 201(98.8%); 14(0.5%) with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 742 and 7(0.3%) with unknown source of infection.

There were 2624 native cases this Sunday and 14 were imported of which 1410(53.5%) female and 1228(46.5%) male cases.

311 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 88 critical and 223 seriously ill. 

This Sunday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to 8.91%(235), for a total of 128 598, which represents a 14.0% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 2638 confirmed cases, 611 were under 20 years of age; 577 between 20 and 39; 781 between 40 and 59 and 669, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 11th, 2021 is 0.86% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.04% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
