Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, September 19th, stated that, 8544 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 809 911.

To date,6856 deaths by coronavirus (60 belong to the day) have been reported, and 40836 active cases of which 39 861(98.8%) with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 7781(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 762 319 medical or epidemiological discharges. There are 142 critical patients and 316 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 494 belong to the capital, of them 491 are native and 3 imported. We regret 4 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital: Playa, Marianao, Cotorro and Centro Habana (1 death each).

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased to a 415.2% placing the capital in fortieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Marianao (49), Boyeros (48), Diez de Octubre (47), Arroyo Naranjo and La Lisa (44), Habana del Este (38), Centro Habana (32), Guanabacoa (29), Playa (28), Habana Vieja (27), Plaza de la Revolución (26), Cotorro (25), San Miguel del Padrón (20), Cerro (18), and Regla,16.

55 402 test were studied for Covid- 19, with a result of 8544 positive samples whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 9 060 867 analyzed samples of which 809 911 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases, 8509(99.6%) people were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 798 420; 8 with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 411 and 27(0.32%) with unknown source of infection.

There were 8536 native cases this Sunday and 8 were imported of which 4515(53%) female and 4019(47%) male cases.

This Sunday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to a 3.8 %(325), for a total of 124 644 which represents 15.4% of the confirmed cases to date.

Of the 8544 confirmed cases, 1868 were under 20 years of age; 2111 between 20 and 39; 2689 between 40 and 59 and 1876, over 60.

The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in September 19th, 2021 is 0.85% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.05% for the world and the 2.46 % for the Americas region.
