From this Thursday to next Saturday more than 186 000 children from 2 to 10 years of age will be vaccinated with the Cuban candidate Soberana 02 pediatric. Of them, children from First to Sixth Grade will do it in Primary Schools equipped for this purpose, and the rest will get the vaccine in vaccination sites certified by the polyclinics.

This process will take place trough educational centers and the office of the family doctor and nurse, informed to the Temporary Working Group (GTT) for the fight against Covid-19 the Dr. Nilda Roca Menéndez, deputy general director of Health in the province, in the meeting hold last Wednesday, September 15th,2021.

Dr. Roca Menéndez explained that in this stage there are not included neither Covi-19 convalescent children nor the ones that are allergic to Tiomersal, who will receive a different treatment later. 

Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, first secretary of the Party in the city, Reinaldo García Zapata, governor of the city, dedicated a wide space in the meeting to checkup the organization of this process due to its transcendence and because it deals with the childhood universe.

At the meeting the specialists confirmed that the families have the cares and the surveillance system focused on the care of children at home, leading to a decrease in the amount of pediatric cases in the last few days.

Torres Iríbar, as usual, reported the opinions provided by the people about the importance of paying attention to the problems related to domestic incomes, the need of checking the sanitary conditions of some facilities that provide services to patients in isolation, the bad quality of bread in some bakeries and the decline of the public transport in the last stage, due to the lack of resources.

Regard with the illegal sale of medicines, the First Secretary of the Communist Party in Havana pointed out that is necessary to increase the control and surveillance, to prevent the diversion of resources produced or imported by the State, no matter the complexity of the current economic situation even if it is necessary to be severe in the application of measures to those who inhumanely violate the law.

Julio Martínez, coordinator of the Programs of the Government, claimed that the distribution of the donation food offered by other nations to the municipalities in the capital continues in an organized way.

The GTT recognized the increase in the supply of vegetables, fruits, meat and poultry in the markets of the city, jus few weeks after the implementation of more than 60 measures focused on benefitting the producers and consumers, making easier the commerce.

Magda Ileana Pérez Matos, president of the Commission of Industry, Construction and Energy of National Assembly of the People´s Power, attended to the meeting as part of the work system of this institution.

About the epidemiological situation, it was informed that this Tuesday, after processing 10 029 samples, there were reported 580 positive cases, one of them imported. In all cases it was possible to demonstrate the infection source.

The incidence rate has decreased in the last 15 days in 26.5%. A reduction in this indicator in all the municipalities is reported.  

10 046 patients remain in admission, including those who are home admitted. Among them, 604 children, of which 91 under a year of age. Today there were 88 children admitted, 11 of them, under a year of age.

The province still evidences six events with native transmission and 1789 foci controls. 201 foci opened the day and 227 were reported at the end of it, for that reason, it is extended the closure date of 267 due to the existence of positives cases in the day.

35 workers of the Health sector were confirmed to Covid-19 today, two of them with institutional source of infection

The Inspección Sanitaria Estatal (State Sanitary Inspection) visited 437 foci control sites and 369 vulnerable centers. 142 fines were applied, all of them due to the non-compliance of Decree-Law 31 on violations of the hygiene, sanitary and biosafety standards.

111 patients are in the Intensive Care Units, 36 critical and 75 seriously ill.

6 Covid-19 associated deaths were reported today, issue of a great concern for the GTT.
