
Houses were given to people in need in La Lisa
In the morning of this July 26th, the Day of National Rebellion, inspired in Moncada´ s energy an event of revolutionary reaffirmation was done. New houses (eight) were given to families in need. Those houses were built where there was an old carpenter’s workshop that belonged to the Cuban Company and Industry of furniture DUJO) (Empresa Industria Cubana del Mueble DUJO), of an area called Alturas de La Lisa, which is in this municipality in the city.
Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party (PCC) and general secretary of the Cuban Central Workers Union (Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC); Inés María Chapman Waugh, Deputy prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, René Mesa Villafaña, Minister of the Construction; Doctor in Sciences, Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella, Minister of Education, as well as other directors and workers of the Ministry of Construction (MICONS), of the Architectural Construction Company No.53 (ECOA 53) and the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH), together with leaders of the Party and government in the municipality, were at the place.
A voluntary work started the activities in which around 300 hundred people, among them workers and directors took part. They cut the grass, picked up rubble and, carried different materials, among others. They had to follow sanitary - hygienic measures required in the current situation.
After that a group of workers, constructors, some leaders and beneficiaries went all over the works. They could verify for themselves the constructions, their characteristics, improvements and quality of the houses already finished.
Ramiro Ramón Oliva, is the head of the Brigade No.1, specialized in the construction of houses, of ECOA 53, that is working in this place. When referring to the project known as DUJO houses he commented the following to Tribuna de La Habana: they will be noble, atypical ,spacious and comfortable houses. They will have two or three bedrooms, a hall, a bathroom, a big patio, and a common hall. Another 72 houses are supposed to be built in the available limit.
He said that eight houses were finished, another two are at the 50 and 80%, respectively in the second building, they will have two floors there are other three, out of sixteen which are in consideration. All the needed materials are at the construction site.
Likewise Ramón Oliva explained that sosa mold system, which is quick and efficient, was used. It is a construction system that uses sliding molds, you do the formwork, you cast, the floors are located for the access of electricians, masons, and the floor assembly.
He indicated, furthermore that another specialized brigade should come to start the construction of 16 houses in the building No 1.
He anticipated the works to finish this year, although it depends on the resources. He says it has been an urgent program in spite of the difficult circumstances our country is going trough.
As a conclusion of the day, recognition was given to ECOA 53 due to its outstanding effort for the construction works in the municipality. It was given by the municipality Administration Board in the revolutionary reaffirmation meeting.
Correspondingly two workers from the Company DUJO and six families from La Habana Vieja; whose houses were in danger of collapse were given the keys of the eight houses that were finished. This is the case of Barbara Gomez Bridon, who said: “It is a glorious day, a very special day, the day of the National Rebellion , it is what all Cubans deserve, what this immense Revolution does, to give us houses, it is an evidence for those who think ill about the Revolution”. She said: Not only doctors deserve our applause, constructors do as well. We came to see the work and we said they could not finish in time and when we come back and see it is finished we are very happy and grateful to the Revolution”.
The Deputy prime Minister Ines Maria Chapman Waugh and the Ministry of Construction, René Mesa Villafaña, took part in the voluntary work.
