Cuba continued reporting a complex epidemiological situation for an amount of 6405 new Covid- 19 diagnosed cases

The capital reported a total of 815 new cases, only outnumbered by the province of Matanzas, current epicenter of the pandemic with more than 1700 Covid-19 positives cases-19 in the last 24 hours- which leads to the implementation of the new sanitary attention protocols and to an extreme comply of the measures taken against Covid-19 pandemic.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros(104),Playa(98),Diez de Octubre(85),Marianao(73),La Lisa (70),Habana del Este(69),Arroyo Naranjo(55),Centro Habana(52),Cerro(50), Habana Vieja (43),Plaza de la Revolución(32), San Miguel del Padrón(30), Cotorro(28),Guanabacoa(11), and Regla,15.

During the Press Conference, broadcasted on Cuban radio and TV, Dr. Durán referred to the great concern related to the amount of deaths by Coronavirus: 53 Coronavirus-related deaths in the day for an amount of 2072 casualties to date from the beginning of the disease on March, 2019.

“It is necessary the active participation of the people”, alerted the expert during the Conference, and reported that today, there are 61 482 admitted patients in Cuba, of them 18 415 are suspicious and 36 852 active cases.

Native transmission is leading the contagious balance in the archipelago, with 51 imported patients and a total of 89 491 Covid -91 cases in the last 15 days.

He also announced that the clinical essay with Mambisa has begun at Hermanos Almejeiras General Teaching Hospital, which is the only one nasal- administrated candidate focus on treatment with Covid-19 affected patients, obtained by the CIGB. The Government’s Portal will be offering accurate details of this Cuban medical science achievement.
