The thermoelectric of Felton complicates the national electrical situation.

A breakdown in a drainage conduit in the outer area of the boiler, from block one of the thermoelectric power plant (CTE) Lidio Ramón Pérez of Felton, aims to be the cause of his departure from the National Electric System (SEN), recently, Eric Milanés Quinzián, director of the plant, told Radio Mayarí, after a preliminary evaluation.

He said that, despite the large amount of steam scattered at high pressure, the pipes appeared without visible effects so far, a positive sign to reduce the time and complexities of recovery.

However, high temperatures and pressure still prevented technicians from accessing the exact point of the failure. 48 hours of work will be needed for the repair, if collateral damage does not arise, Milanés Quinzián added.

In such conditions, last Saturday the maximum affectation was rooted in 1 678 megawatts (mw) at 8:50 p.m., also aggravated by the exit of unit 5 of the Nuevitas cte.

By yesterday the Electrical Union (une) would have estimated an impact of 1 766 MW in peak hours, due to the difference between the availability of 1 654 mw and the demand of 3 350 mw.

The joint contribution between the eight synchronized solar parks on the Sabbath day consisted of 923.6, on the other hand, this contribution is still far below the need to counteract the limitations for various reasons, as can be inferred in the daily update shared by the unit.

Thermal generation has 265 unavailable mw and another 82 are inoperative due to lack of lubricants. The fuel deficit keeps the Rule Patana out of service and 77 distributed generation power plants, equivalent to a total of 544 mw, while it is valued to recover 150 mw in the latter source.

The other damaged thermal blocks are 5 Mariel and 2nd of Felton. Meanwhile, unit 2 of Santa Cruz, 3 and 4 of Cienfuegos and 5 of Renté receive maintenance. (National Wi-Fi)
