The Nineteenth Cuban Nursing Congress will be held soon in Havana

By Ania González Rodríguez

During the next days, November 9, 10 and 11, the Nineteenth Cuban Nursing Congress will take place in this capital, in which 300 Cuban delegates and 100 foreigners will participate, the latter representing 19 countries.

The Master of Science Edalmis Infante Ochoa, president of the Cuban Nursing Society, commented today at a press conference, the most important themes and experiences that will be shared in said congress, especially the one lived by Cuban nursing professionals, during the Covid 19 pandemic, a topic that according to his appreciation, could not be missing. In this regard, Infante Ochoa said:

“This issue could not be missing from the Cuban agenda, because our nursing played a vital role, superhuman efforts were made to be able to provide care, not only in hospital services but in all care centers that were set up in schools and other places, where Nursing brigades had to be organized.”

“We also had to organize brigades from other provinces in the most difficult places, we united a lot, as a single force to be able to respond to care needs. In addition, we were the most permanent and closest force to the patient. Nursing also had to grow in vaccination, and in record time; For this reason, we will rightly present our experiences under the central motto of the Congress, which is: "Share experiences of the actions developed in the countries, in the resilience and competitiveness of nursing towards a prosperous and sustainable health agenda."
