They will develop the third edition of the Zona Quinta Festival

With the purpose of celebrating World Food Day on October 16, during the 15th and 16th of the same month, the third edition of the Zona Quinta Festival will take place in its usual setting in the capital's Quinta de los Molinos.

As announced on the Facebook profile of that Havana botanical garden, the festival will contain an expo sale of the services and products of projects and enterprises whose work is associated with environmental sustainability, sustainable food and nutritional education.

Finca Marta, Nutritional Cabinet, Marypitas, Gaia, Mieles de la Tierra and Natyvas are some of the protagonists of the event that, in alliance with the representation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Cuba, will exchange experiences regarding the date proclaimed by that body in 1979.

The Fifth Zone will also include book presentations, an exhibition of organic food producing farms, a veterinary care area and activities with children and adolescents that includes a visit to all the spaces and attractions of the Quinta de los Molinos, the information specifies.

Regarding veterinary attention and care for pets, it was reported that it will be the institution's team of Veterinary Medicine specialists who will provide the services of nail trimming, ear cleaning and clinical examination of the animals.

A show by the La Colmenita Children's Theater Company of the Cerro municipality will also be presented on Saturday the 15th in the morning.

The weekend edition will endorse the slogan Leave no one behind, which belongs to the FAO campaign for World Food Day and is a wake-up call for the effects on world food security as a result of the pandemic of the COVID-19 that is still plaguing the planet and of the environmental, political and economic tensions.

The Zona Quinta Festival is an initiative that began during the summer months of 2022 as part of the programming of the Rutas y Andares project.
