In Cuba, a new donation of electrical material sent by Mexico.

Cuba received this Monday the last of a total of 16 flights carried out by four aircraft of the Mexican Air Force that arrived in this capital, uninterruptedly for 96 hours, with electrical material to support the recovery of the country after the passage of Hurricane Ian. , on September 27 last.

A report by the Prensa Latina Agency specifies that with the trip this Monday, which transported around 13 tons (t) of pole-type insulators, there are 113 tons of resources from Mexico destined for the repair of the electrical system in the provinces hit by the hurricane, a category three on the Saffir-Simpson scale, out of a maximum of five.

Liván Arronte Cruz, Minister of Energy and Mines of Cuba, during the reception this Monday at the José Martí International Airport in the capital, thanked the help of the Mexican government.

The minister recognized the presence in Cuban territory of 17 Mexican technicians and specialists in power generation, and the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Twitter account of the Ministry of Energy and Mines also highlighted the arrival of supplies from electrical networks and referred to the gratitude of the Cuban people to that North American nation for its solidarity.

According to the PL report, the Mexican ambassador to Cuba, Miguel Díaz Reynoso, stated at the ceremony that this Monday the first stage of aid was closed after the tropical cyclone, which wreaked havoc in the provinces of Pinar del Río, Artemisa, Mayabeque and Havana, and in the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud.

Díaz Reynoso maintained that the days have been of cooperation, solidarity, friendship and hope, and highlighted the resistance and triumph of the Caribbean country, despite its proximity to danger.

He refers to the text that Brigadier General Luis Antonio Pantoja, military and air attaché of the Mexican diplomatic headquarters in Havana, wished the Caribbean country a speedy recovery and recalled the orientation of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to send aid to the island.

He explained that in coordination with several institutions they created an air bridge for the arrival of this material to the areas impacted by the hurricane, and affirmed that this contingency will be a battle that they will resolve satisfactorily, due to the experience that the island has in this type of disasters.

Pantoja praised the effort, commitment and dedication of the Cuban people in such complex moments.
