Preparations for the Havana International Fair 2022 confirmed at Expocuba

The Member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, checked the current situation of the Expocuba fairgrounds in view of the FIHAV 2022 Havana International Fair, scheduled to take place in November.

In the exchange, which was also attended by the Vice Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo, ministers and representatives of organizations, Marrero Cruz called for the elaboration of a legal norm on the institution that includes the responsibility of the organizations and the annual plan to serve the campus in a differentiated manner. .

He referred to the deterioration of the facility and proposed evaluating sustainable ways to guarantee transportation to the site. He pointed out that culture and recreation are key in Expocuba.

"We have to find a way for the family to come here to spend the day, so that we have a gastronomic offer between the private and the state where people know that they are going to have lunch and have a good lunch, at a fair price. We would have to rescue and even expand the recreation devices that there are many that are paralyzed".

"The cultural offer will be the great attraction. This is a space for any cultural event."

At the meeting, the head of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, explained that to date 25 countries have confirmed his presence at the Fair. He referred that the update of the Portfolio of Opportunities and the Single Window for Foreign Investment will be presented.

"We are at an acceptable level of participation, but we are intensifying the management, they are still forming authorities from different countries at the level of Ministers, Undersecretaries and all that gives the Fair a level."

For her part, Lidercy Gonzáles, director of Expocuba, explained that with a view to the Havana International Fair, the installation has been preparing for months and as a strategy they have concentrated efforts on the main problems.

"Today we have hired a Local Development Project that is painting the Central Pavilion and carrying out some repair actions, and with our own efforts we are carrying out other activities that the Central Pavilion also requires."

Jorge Luis Pérez Llerandy, General Director of the Organizing Company of Congresses, Fairs and Exhibitions, Grupo Palco, spoke at the meeting about the revitalization of spaces and the need to promote and raise gastronomy in Expocuba to levels of excellence.
