The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, August 31, 50 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,110,589.

335 remain hospitalized and 133 suspects.

To date, 8,530 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 52 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating 1,101,798 (99.2%) recovered patients. 202 active cases were confirmed, all with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 2 autochthonous cases were identified in the municipalities of Boyeros and Regla.

 For COVID-19, 2,287 samples were studied, resulting in 50 positive samples. The country accumulates 14,100,070 samples carried out and 1,110,589 positive.

Of the 50 confirmed, 37 were contacts of confirmed cases, 4 with a source of infection abroad and 9 to be specified.

Five asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,444, which represents 13.3%.

Until this August 31, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.07% of the world, and 1.6% of the Americas.
