
Havana Mambo Festival concludes this Sunday.
The first face-to-face edition of the Habana Mambo Festival concludes this Sunday in Cuba with the award ceremony for the casino wheel contest, animation and children's activities from the Havana's Salón Rosado de la Tropical.
Focused on music, dance and popular traditions, the closing of the event will include the Dreams of the Golden Age project, by Julio César Valdés and the actor Jorge Ryan, the clown Maraca, the puppeteer Kristeli, circus varieties and the company Children's Mix, along with his troupe of dolls.
The closing day will also include the meeting of casino dancers, in support of the movement of that discipline in Venezuela that aims to achieve a Guinness Record and the dance-concert of Leonel Limonta and Azúcar Negra, together with other guest artists.
For this Sunday night, the organizers plan to perform popular dances with the Revolution Dance Company, directed by the renowned Cuban choreographer Roclan González and founded in 2011, and the award ceremony for the Casineando en la Tropical contest.
The program of the event, coordinated by the Department of Culture of Havana and Mambo Artistic Productions, will also include the presentation of Alexander Abreu and his group Havana D´Primera, deserving of the Cubadisco Grand Prize in its 2022 edition.
On October 31, 2019, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) granted Havana the status of Creative City of Music. The declaration is an international recognition, which allows the capital of all Cubans to be part of a World Network, which groups 246 metropolises around the world with this condition.
