The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, August 24, 59 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,110,218.

414 remain hospitalized and 171 suspects.

To date, 8,530 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 87 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating 1,101,386 (99.2%) recovered patients. 243 active cases were confirmed, 242 of them with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 1 case was identified in the Guanabacoa municipality.

For COVID-19, 1888 samples were studied, resulting in 59 positive samples. The country accumulates 14,086,597 samples carried out and 1,110,218 positive.

Of the 59 confirmed, 48 were contacts of confirmed cases, and 11 with a source of infection to specify.

Of the feminine sex 30, and of the masculine 29. In the Intensive Cares 1 patient is assisted in serious condition.

Three asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,413, which represents 13.3%.

Until this August 24, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.08% of the world, and 1.61% of the Americas.
