The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, August 21, 62 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,110,054.

517 remain hospitalized and 183 suspects.

To date, 8,530 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 78 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating 1,101,131 (99.2%) recovered patients. 334 active cases were confirmed, 333 of them with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, only 1 case was identified, autochthonous in the municipality of La Lisa.

For COVID-19, 1,837 samples were studied, resulting in 62 positive samples. The country accumulates 14,081,348 samples carried out and 1,110,054 positive.

Of the 62 confirmed, 49 were contacts of confirmed cases, 2 with a source of infection abroad, and 11 to be specified.

Of the feminine sex 29, and of the masculine 33. In the Intensive Cares a patient is assisted in serious condition.

Four asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,402, which represents 13.3%.

The 62 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 42; from 20 to 39, 11; from 40 to 59, 6; and 60 and over, 3 cases.

Until this August 21, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.08% of the world, and 1.61% of the Americas.
