The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, August 19, 74 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,109,911.

541 remain hospitalized and 210 suspects.

To date, 8,529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 87 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating 1,100,992 (99%) recovered patients. 331 active cases were confirmed, 326 of them with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 2 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in two of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

For COVID-19, 1,832 samples were studied, resulting in 74 positive samples. The country accumulates 14,077,136 samples carried out and 1,109,911 positive.

Of the 74 confirmed, 54 were contacts of confirmed cases, and 20 with a source of infection to specify.

Of the female sex 43, and of the male 31. In the Intensive Cares 5 patients are assisted, of them 2 in critical condition and 3 reported as serious.

Six asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,392, which represents 13.3%.

The 74 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 41; from 20 to 39, 16; from 40 to 59, 4; and 60 and over, 13 cases.

Until this August 19, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.08% of the world, and 1.61% of the Americas.
