The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, August 15, 57 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,109,577.

612 remain hospitalized and 237 suspects.

To date, 8,529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 100 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating 1,100,614 (99.2%) recovered patients. 375 active cases were confirmed, 370 of them with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 3 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in three of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

Guanabacoa –1

Playa –1

For COVID-19, 1,412 samples were studied, resulting in 57 positive samples. The country accumulates 14,068,274 samples carried out and 1,109,577 positive.

Of the 57 confirmed, 47 were contacts of confirmed cases, and 27 with a source of infection to specify.

29 were female, and 28 were male. 5 patients were cared for in Intensive Care, 2 of them in critical condition and 3 reported as serious.

No asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,374, which represents 13.3%.

The 57 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 40; from 20 to 39, 10; from 40 to 59, 2; and 60 and over, 5 cases.

Until this August 15, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.08% of the world, and 1.62% of the Americas.
