An attempt to destroy the Archive of the People's Court of Central Havana is denounced.

The Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment, as the governing body of the National System of Documentary Management and Archives, denounces the recent events that occurred, when unscrupulous citizens tried to destroy the Archive of the People's Court of the municipality of Centro Habana.

The archives of the Court are repositories of the documentation resulting from its mission of imparting justice and ensuring the processing and resolution of judicial matters in accordance with the law, a sense of fairness, rationality, promptness, respect for the guarantees of the parties, transparency and timely and effective compliance with decisions.

These acts of vandalism also have among their purposes that of disrupting all the actions that the country has been carrying out as part of the Historical Memory Program, which contributes to the preservation of documentation of historical value and to guarantee through documentary evidence , the rights of natural persons and compliance with the duties and obligations of legal persons.

Safeguarding archival documents is vital for the resolution and transparency of public actions, as essential tools for the optimal functioning of the administration, as instruments to help understand the processes of transformation and delivery of social justice, with full adherence to the precepts constitutional.

We reject any destabilizing attempt against our country and we reaffirm that we will continue to defend for present and future generations the documentary historical heritage of the nation, a reflection of the indestructible work of the Revolution.
