They inaugurated Uvero bookstore in Centro Fidel Castro in Havana.

A bookstore that will help spread the thought and work of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution was inaugurated at the Fidel Castro Ruz Center in Havana.

The opening of the facility took place this Saturday in commemoration of the 96th anniversary of the birth of Fidel Castro, and was named Uvero, as a tribute to the victorious combat of the Rebel Army on May 28, 1957, which marked "the coming of age of the guerrilla » directed by him.

A report from the Cuban News Agency specifies that the bookstore will offer the production of Ediciones Alejandro, the Center's publishing house, and the Commander in Chief's publications related to the work of the Revolution, from the Cuban Book Institute.

It also rescues the tradition of producing souvenirs with patriotic content, related to the history of Cuba and America.

At the opening ceremony, René González, director of the Center, said that for a man of science and thought like Fidel, there would be no better gift on his anniversary than a bookstore.

For his part, Josué Pérez, vice president of the Cuban Book Institute, recalled the creation of the system of territorial editions at the initiative of Fidel Castro, which he described as one of his great works for the democracy of books and reading in Cuba.

As part of the tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, a postage stamp containing the polychromatic image of the work Caiguarán, by the Cuban sculptor José Villa Soberón, which is located in the gardens of the Center, was canceled.
