The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, August 13, 101 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,109,433.

634 remain hospitalized and 248 suspects.

To date, 8,529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 82 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating 1,100,459 (99.2%) recovered patients. 386 active cases were confirmed, 382 of them with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 4 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in three of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

San Miguel del Padrón –1

For COVID-19, 2,316 samples were studied, resulting in 73 positive samples. The country accumulates 14,064,773 samples carried out and 1,109,433 positives.

Of the 73 confirmed, 50 were contacts of confirmed cases, 3 with a source of infection abroad, and 20 unspecified.

34 females, and 39 males. Four patients are cared for in Intensive Care, of which 2 are in critical condition and 2 are reported to be in serious condition.

4 (5.5%) asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,370, which represents 13.3%.

The 73 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 46; from 20 to 39, 14; from 40 to 59, 4; and 60 and over, 20 cases.

Until this August 13, Cuba reports a fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.09% of the world, and 1.62% of the Americas.
