Chemotherapy room reopened at the “Miguel Enríquez” Clinical-Surgical Teaching Hospital in Havana.

Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, general secretary of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, presented the 80th Anniversary stamp of the CTC, in recognition of the results obtained by the center.

With the presence of Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, secretary general of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), the Ambulatory Chemotherapy Services Room of the "Miguel Enríquez" Clinical-Surgical Teaching Hospital was inaugurated this Saturday in this capital.

The Cuban News Agency reports that Guilarte de Nacimiento was accompanied by Reynaldo García Zapata, governor of Havana, Dr. Tania Margarita Cruz Hernández, first deputy minister of Public Health, and other members of the national secretariat of the CTC.

The also member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba highlighted the meaning of commemorating in that institution the 96th anniversary of the Birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, due to the importance granted by the historical leader of the Revolution.

Proof of this are the more than 40 visits he made to the center, which he conceived as a palpable expression of the Revolution's interest in guaranteeing quality health at the service of the people, he specified.

Guilarte de Nacimiento was interested in the care that patients will receive and the level of specialization of professionals, as well as the incidence of carcinogenic diseases, mainly among young people.

During the event, the "CTC's 80th Anniversary Seal" was awarded, in recognition of the results obtained in the care and efficiency of the health of the people of the capital and the country, accompanied by increasing union work every day, to the Hospital "Miguel Enríquez", who was received by Dr. Odalys González Peña, director of the hospital institution.

Dr. Osmin Rivas, Specialist in General Surgery and Assistant Professor also received recognition. He participated in the support group for the assault on the Presidential Palace on March 13, and who was member of the First Internationalist Brigade of Algeria.

The union leader also exchanged with relatives of Lieutenant Colonel Eustiquio Rivero Verdecia, hospitalized in the institution for suffering injuries in the fire at the Supertanker Base in Matanzas, and recognized the courage and commitment of the firefighters that made possible the extinction of the fire.
