The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, August 12, 101 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,109,360.

619 remain hospitalized and 224 suspects.

To date, 8,529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 104 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating 1,100,377 (99.2%) recovered patients. 395 active cases were confirmed, 391 of them with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 5 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in five of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

Cerro –1

Centro Habana –1

Habana Viejoa–1

La Lisa –1

For COVID-19, 2,092 samples were studied, resulting in 101 positive samples. The country accumulates 14,062,457 samples carried out and 1,109,360 positive.

Of the 101 confirmed cases, 69 were contacts of confirmed cases, 3 with a source of infection abroad, and 29 without specifying.

Of the feminine sex 56, and of the masculine 45. In the Intensive Cares 4 patients are assisted, of them one in critical condition and 3 reported as serious.

7 (6.9%) asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,366, which represents 13.3%.

The 101 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 54; from 20 to 39, 19; from 40 to 59, 11; and 60 and over, 17 cases.

Until this August 12, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.09% of the world, and 1.62% of the Americas.
