5 of the 95 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba are reported in the capital.

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, August 9, 95 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,109,077.

683 remain hospitalized and 245 suspects.

To date, 8,529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 103 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating 1,100,051 (99.2%) recovered patients. 438 active cases were confirmed, 431 of them with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 5 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in five of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

Eastern Havana –1

Beach –1

Marianao –1

Lisa –1

Revolution Square–1

For COVID-19, 2,009 samples were studied, resulting in 95 positive samples. The country accumulates 14,055,818 samples carried out and 1,109,077 positive.

Of the 95 confirmed cases, 70 were contacts of confirmed cases and 25 with an unspecified source of infection.

Of the feminine sex 48, and of the masculine 47. In the Intensive Cares 7 patients are assisted, of them 1 patient in critical condition and 6 seriously.

4 (4.2%) asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,347, which represents 13.3%.

The 95 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 63; from 20 to 39, 18; from 40 to 59, 3; and 60 and over, 11 cases.

Until this August 9, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.09% of the world, and 1.62% of the Americas.

In the last 12 weeks in the country, no deaths from Covid.19 have been reported.
