Diagnosed in the capital 16 of the 88 new positives to Covid-19 in Cuba

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, July 28, 88 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 107 thousand 888.

717 remain hospitalized and 262 suspects.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 115 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 98 thousand 845 (99.2%) recovered patients. 455 active cases were confirmed, 450 of them with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 16 cases were identified, of them 12 autochthonous and 3 imported. Cases were reported in 11 of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

For COVID-19, 1,815 samples were studied, resulting in 88 positive samples. The country accumulates 14 million 029 thousand 469 samples carried out and one million 107 thousand 888 positives.

Of the 88 confirmed cases, 73 were contacts of confirmed cases, 6 with a source of infection abroad, and 9 without specifying.

41 females, and 47 males. 5 patients are cared for in Intensive Care, 1 of them in critical condition and 4 in serious condition.

 6 (6.8%) asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,260, which represents 13.3%.

The 88 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 49; from 20 to 39, 14; from 40 to 59, 6; and 60 and over, 19 cases.

Until this July 28, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.11% of the world, and 1.64% of the Americas.
