From the capital 16 of the 51 new positives to Covid-19 in Cuba

The official report of the Ministry of Public Health informs that at the close of yesterday, July 18, 51 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 106 thousand 930.

573 remain hospitalized and 252 suspects.

To date, 8,529 deaths have been reported (none today) and 56 medical discharges were given (today), accumulating one million 98,021 (99.2%) recovered patients. 321 active cases were confirmed, 319 of them with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 16 cases were identified, 15 of them native and one imported. Cases were reported in nine of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

For COVID-19, 1,734 samples were studied, resulting in 51 positive samples. The country accumulates 14 million 005 thousand 144 samples carried out and one million 106 thousand 930 positives.

Of the 51 confirmed cases, 41 were contacts of confirmed cases, 4 with a source of infection abroad, and 6 without specifying.

 4 (7.8%) asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,177, which represents 13.3%.

The 51 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 28; from 20 to 39, 9; from 40 to 59, 6; and 60 and over, 8 cases.

Until July 18, Cuba reports a fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.12% of the world, and 1.66% of the Americas.
