The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, July 17, 81 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 106 thousand 879.

598 remain hospitalized and 272 suspects.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 50 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 97 thousand 965 (99.2%) recovered patients. 326 active cases were confirmed, 322 of them with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 19 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in nine of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

For COVID-19, 2,842 samples were studied, resulting in 81 positive samples. The country accumulates 14 million 003 thousand 410 samples carried out and one million 106 thousand 879 positives.

Of the 81 confirmed cases, 71 were contacts of confirmed cases, 3 with a source of infection abroad, and 7 without specifying.

Until this July 17, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.13% of the world, and 1.66% of the Americas.
